Billboard analysis

In almost every Billboard magazine I have seen, the models overlap the masthead. this is a typical feature in a magazine that I must remember to include in mine. This will show that my magazine is popular and it will give it that real magazine look rather than a typical poster that a small child knocked up. its effective it shows that the stars on the front page are the main focus, it says "Look who we've managed to get for our magazine!!!!! buy us  now!!". this feature is also supported by the fact that there is a large cover line in capital letters telling the target audience how important these celebrities are. with my magazine I think I will stick to just having the name of the artist or band so that the target audience actually know who the artist is but I can also advertise the artist with a small subheading under the main cover-line. The magazine follows a clear colour scheme once again, this repetitive feature in nearly every magazine clearly tells me  that I should make my masthead, strapline and cover lines have colour scheme to stick to. one thing I have noticed is that there isn't a puff providing any extra information inside. I noticed this also with mixmag and this could be a usual thing for music magazines however I am still making sure to include a puff of some sort, the cover  seems much more plain without one.
